The animation is based on these mysterious characters I create called ‘Obi’. I started creating these beings back in 2014 and they form a core part of my mythical art world or ‘Afroverse’.

There are currently hundreds of these Obi characters, and each one spawns from ‘Àshe’—an intuitive, Yoruba-inspired visual language and art form, which forms the metaphysical basis of the Afroverse.
